Chronic Kidney Disease is increasingly being recognized throughout the world. More than 850 million people are suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), of them about 80 percent are from low and LMIC. As a result, more than 2-7 million people die prematurely due to CKD and its complications. Kidney diseases has now become the 12th cause of death around the world. It is estimated that by 2040 CKD will be the 5th cause of death among Non Communicable Disease (NCD).

In Bangladesh, CKD is also increasing. The healthcare professionals, general population, stake holders and policy makers need to be involved to alleviate the burden of CKD.

Screening for diabetes, hypertension and CKD is the most important way to prevent the disease. The prevention of CKD is to be started at the community level.

Eminent speakers from around the world will join the seminar. Clinical cases and updates regarding ongoing research from all participating organizations will be shared and discussed. The inauguration will be held on 28th November, 2026, at 9:00 am at Convention Hall, Kidney Foundation Hospital & Research Institute, Mirpur, Dhaka-1216.
